cox e-mail doesn't work in Windows 10 mail app? anyone have any ideas how this works?
Many people with this same problem. With Windows Live Mail on Win 7 it allows me to change the pop3 port to 995 and the smtp port to 465 to satisfy Cox requirements. The Win 10 Mail set up process doesn't allow that.
I tried changing pop3 and smtp port values in \windows\system32\drivers\etc\services file (requires administrator privleges) to the values I listed. That didn't do it. Still stymied. eff'ing Microsoft -- that made an 'improvement' that now wrecks the damned thing and won't do a damned thing to fix it.
